Alex Maslanka
Owner/Instructor (Toronto/Windsor)
Alex Maslanka began his dance training as a competitive studio and ballroom dancer in his home town of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 7. Alex’s career spans many different areas of dance and the arts.
With his ballroom/latin dance career, Alex and his partner Christine travel all over the world, representing Canada and competing in some of the most prestigious ballroom competitions in France, England, Netherlands, Latvia and more. They are Canadian National Latin Champions, and have achieved other titles such as Blackpool Latin Semi Finalists, Paris “Fred Astaire “ World Championship Finalists, England’s International Semi Finalist, Junior and Under 21 North American Champions, and many other national and international awards. Alex trains with a long list of some of the world’s most renowned teachers and coaches in the ballroom/latin dance industry.
Outside of the ballroom dance world, Alex also focuses on “commercial dance”. Alex is a recipient of such awards as “Teen Dancer of the Year” at the American Dance Awards, and “National Dancer of the Year” at Tremaine Dance (in which he toured with the company for many years). Throughout his commercial dancing, Alex has had the opportunity to train and perform with some of the industries best dancers and choreographers, many that you may have seen in movies, T.V shows, artist tours, SYTYCD, and the list goes on. Some of Alex’s most notable performances include The Professional Dancers Society Awards performance in Los Angeles for Paula Abdul (in front of names like Dick Van Dyke, Nigel Lythgoe etc.) and at the renowned World Choreography Awards in Los Angeles, California.
Alex also has multiple acting credits for television series and music videos, some being: Degrassi, Collision Course, CBC’s Canada-The Story Of Us, Flip TFO and many more.
He has been teaching all age groups with varying levels of experience for many years now, with the goal of making the choreography and visions come to life. Alex prides himself in his versatility and creativity as a dancer and he brings a lot to the table when it comes to being an instructor.
